Cost: $150 per person. Includes personal photograph, dinner with wine, DJ/dancing and late night buffet. 500 ticket maximum capacity (tables of 10).

How to Purchase: To purchase a table or individual tickets, please contact: LCol (ret’d) Robert Brown via email or on Facebook. Tickets are sold through the Regimental Association’s Kit Shop.

Dress: Officers and senior non-commissioned members: No. 2 (mess kit) with miniatures or No 1D (patrol dress with undress ribbons). Non-commissioned members: No. 1D (patrol dress with undress ribbons) or No. 2B (mess service DEU with bow-tie). Gentlemen: Black tie with miniatures or dark business suit. Ladies: Evening attire.

General Walt Natynczyk is a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He joined the Canadian Forces in 1975 after spending five years as an Air Cadet. He has served in numerous regimental command positions at all levels from tank troop leader up to Canada’s Chief of Defence Staff.

General Natynczyk’s operational experience consists of NATO duty in Germany; UN peacekeeping duties in Cyprus (1989), a Chief of Operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1994) with British forces, as the Chief of Land Operations, UNPROFOR HQ in Zagreb, Croatia (1995), then Deputy Commander Baghdad, Iraq.

Special Guest: Mr. Anne van Leeuen, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

Special Guest representing the European Union, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr. Anne van Leeuen will bring greetings from the European Union. Anne van Leeuwen was born on January 31, 1962, in Driebergen in the Province Utrecht in the Netherlands.

He earned his master of arts in social anthropology from the University of Amsterdam in 1988. Two years later he began working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the beginning of his diplomatic career he worked in the South Asia Division of the Foreign Ministry (1991-19993), in the Dutch Embassy in Paramaribo, Suriname (1993-1996) and in the Conflict Management and Crisis Prevention Division in the Ministry (1996-1999).

From 1999-2002, Mr. van Leeuwen served in the Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. Worked from 2000-2006 in the Embassy in Ottawa, before taking positions as Deputy Director of the Facility Services and Housing Division, followed by Head of the Consular Affairs Division in the Ministry (2009-2013). In 2013 Mr. van Leeuwen was appointed as Consul General of The Netherlands in Toronto. The Ontario Regiment landed in Sicily in 1943 ending the war with liberation of Holland and are very pleased to have the Consul General attend our Celebration.

CTV News Icon Ken Shaw, will Emcee the dinner again this year. Ken Shaw brings not only a wealth of journalistic experience to his role at CTV Toronto, but also an exceptional record of community service. Since April 2001, he has been the co-anchor for Canada’s most watched local newscast CTV News Toronto at 6pm.

Shaw is the 2010 recipient of the Order of Ontario for his track record of excellence in volunteer service in the Greater Toronto Area he serves.
